Islamabad: Asif Ali Zardari has traditionally greeted Sikh pilgrims, Hindus and other minorities on the occasion of Christmas, Holi and now Baisakh
Philadelphia: January 14, 2010. (PCP) Chief Organizer Pakistan Christian Congress PCC International Wing, Mr. George Murad said that every religion teaches love and peace to establish harmony among different religious communities.
“We Christians appreciate feeling of Muslims for Prophet of Islam and we also pay due respect to Prophet Mohammad” said George Murad.
The blasphemy law was formulated in 1986 in Pakistan which was misused by extremist elements against religious minorities in Pakistan.
George Murad added “ Christianity do not teach Christians to defile any prophet of any religion and I must quote from Gospel of Matthew chapter 7/1-2, which reads as: Stop Judging, that you may not be judged. For as you judge, so will you be judged”
We must learn from Hadith that “When Prophet Mohammad used to go to mosque, on way, from one home a lady used to throw garbage on him but prophet never complained and showed his patience; On day when Prophet was going to mosque and passing across same home, no one was there to throw garbage on him. The prophet stopped and knocked at door and found that woman sick. The prophet wished that lady health”
“ Keeping this Hadith in mind, I do not understand from where violence have been added in teachings of Islam but we must remember that people who commit violence against any body should be punished accordingly” said Mr. George Murad
“That is Why? I encourage government of Pakistan to repeal blasphemy law. I understand that it is very sensitive issue but PCC assures our Muslim brothers in Pakistan that Christians never defiled name of holy prophet in past nor will they do in future” Said Mr. Murad.
The solidarity and prosperity of Pakistan is in religious harmony and respect for humanity which demands repeal of all discriminatory law against minorities.
