CCA support for 93 Christian families of Gojra carnage in Pakistan

Toronto, Canada: January 6, 2010. (PCP) Canadian Christian Association CCA is first Pakistani Christian Diaspora organization in West among dozens other non-profits which reached for rehabilitation of Christian victims of Gojra Town in Punjab province of Pakistan. The Gojra Christians were attacked by Muslim mob on August 1, 2009, on accusation of blasphemy, setting on fire more than 60 homes and burning 7 Christian children and women alive. The carnage of Gojra was after attack on Christians of village Korian by Muslim extremists where 75 Christian homes were destroyed on pretext of blasphemy. The CCA arranged Memorial Service for Gojra Christians in Toronto along with other Pakistani Churches and organizations and pledged to raise funds for support to Christian victims in Pakistan in August 2009. CCA leaders approached various local churches, members of the South Asian communities, colleagues and friends for donations and successfully raised funds. Mr. Ken Massey, CCA executive member and Sohail Gill traveled to Pakistan and handed over checks amounting Rupees 9,450 to 93 Christian families of Gojra Christian Town and Rupees 12,680 checks among 100 Christian families of village Korian. Press reporter Anjum Gill and Waqar David from Pakistan were also present in simple gathering in Gojra and Korian village on occasion of support check distribution by CCA delegation. The CCA delegation also visited family of martyr Danish Robert in Sambrial in district Sialkot in Punjab and handed over cash check of Pakistani Rupees 100,000. A young Christian named Danish Robert was martyred in Sialkot jail by Muslims who was arrested on charges of desecrating pages of verses of Holy Quran The Canadian Christian Association CCA based in Toronto, Canada is only social welfare organizations which practically supported Christian victims in Pakistan while hundreds of non-profits are being formed by Pakistani Christian Diaspora in Western countries
