PHILADELPHIA: January 3, 2010; Philadelphia's Academy of Music was the perfect venue for the Shen Yun Performing Arts Company performance. The audience was mesmerized by what unfolded before their eyes—a show that brought through dance, song, and music, Chinese traditional culture and modern day tales of courage to the Western society. Mr. Imm, a well-known human rights activist and founder of Responsible for Equality And Liberty (R.E.A.L.) attended the show. He saw in the show something that is of great benefit to the world and the Chinese people. "I think it's a great representation of traditional Chinese culture, which also shows the importance of human rights and dignity." "I think that the Shen Yun show is lovely and a very exciting expression of the traditional Chinese culture. I think a lot of people need to see this show and a lot of people would obviously appreciate it. Really beautiful!" This is the first time I've been to a show like this. I haven't seen this before and it was very eye opening." Just as with so many other audience members, the live orchestra impressed Mr. Imm. The orchestra embraced Western and Eastern music, and brought tonal scales to his ears that he had never heard before. "This is the first time I've seen anything like this [Shen Yun Show], and I'm really glad I was able to come. I'm sure there are plenty of other Americans that really have not seen this show. Therefore, this and I think the artists have done a great job in bringing this [show] to the American people and for them to become aware of this culture." "Hopefully, we will be able to pass the word about what a great show this is for the D.C. audience, for the show that they're going to have, I believe, in the third week of January." He spoke of the Chinese culture and how important it is to the world. "Absolutely. The Chinese people represent a fifth to one fourth of humanity. I think it's important for the American people to understand such a large part of humanity's culture, and I think a lot of American people don't get an opportunity to see this. I think it's [the Shen Yun show] doing a great service to help American people understand traditional Chinese culture." 'A very strong message and we like it' Saturday's show in Philadelphia's Academy of Music. (Dai Bing/The Epoch Times) Mr. Ramelah, an architect and founder of the human rights company "Voice of the Copts" and Mr. Bhatti, president of a not-for-profit, were impressed with the show. "Well, I believe it's a very interesting show. This is the first time that I've seen something like that and I like it very much." Mr. Ramelah and Mr. Bhatti did not have time yet to digest all they had seen, but the shared that the received messages from the show, "Certainly, there is a message by every part of the show." After some thought he added, "The message[s] are clear for me." Mr. Bhatti said, "This show is very great. [The artists] have given a very strong message and we like it.
