President vows to carry forward mission of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto

LARKANA/NAUDERO: December 29, 2009. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) President Asif Ali Zardari has said that three forces in country were trying to weaken the present government, but we will continue our struggle and wage Jihad against those, who murdered Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and destabilize country and burnt Karachi, killing our soldiers. He said in a gathering and followed by the inauguration of development Projects, Larkana-Khairpur bridge on Indus River here on Tuesday. President said that the present government and the people of Pakistan will continue to carry forward the mission of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto by his reconciliation process for the development of democracy. It was the will that all these projects will be completed within the stipulated time and the PPP workers, leaders should monitor all these developments through modern techniques. He said the Larkana-Khairpur Bridge will be a landmark in the economic development for the people of Larkana, Kamber-Shahdadkot, Khairpur, Sukkur, Naushehroferoz, Benzir Abad and others parts of Sindh. He said the network of highways would be laid in the country in order to help spur the process of development. President urged the government to adopt modern technology to ensure transparency and efficiency in all government projects and utilize satellite imaging, internet and modern means to evaluate, monitor and oversee the projects of Larkana development.. The President said that a mechanism for payment of compensation of land coming under various projects needs to be worked out to ensure transparency. He was shocked over the tragic incident of Karachi and also directed the concerns to take steps to construct memorials for the valiant Jawans of law enforcement agencies; they were martyred and remembered, so that their courageous stance against the terrorists is marked in the annals of history he said. He also praised the Spoy of Rangers, Abdul Razzaq, who sacrificed his life in Karachi on Monday and saved the lives of a large number of participants of the main Muharram procession in Karachi. The President also emphasized for concerted efforts for elimination of terrorism and salvaging the country and its democratic institutions, condemning the suicide blast at the main mourning procession of 10th Muharram in Karachi, the President also asked the Government of Sindh that measures be intensified while taking the coalition partners along for the elimination of the menace terrorism. The president said he has high hopes and dreams about a modern progressive Pakistan and recalled that late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had said that the nation would prove its mettle and “we have proved it to some extent. He said that in the wake of the National Finance Commission (NFC)Award, the additional sum of Rs. 70 billion which the government of Sindh will get would be utilized towards the construction of the rain water dams. He said that at the time of the water shortage, the requirements would be met through such dams. Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Communications, Imtiaz Safdar Warraich, said that a modern communication system plays a vital role towards the progress and development of the country. He said that new highways would be constructed besides improving the highways already existed.. The Minister said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is a democratic and political force and always practiced the politics of principles. Meanwhile, Sindh Information Minister Shazia Atta Marri has said that the media can play a vital role in true depiction of country strengthen and democracy, added that the President Asif Ali Zardari aspect was very clear in the speech and showed a mirror to those elements of country, are the negative thinking with an autocratic approach. Speaking to the Press Conference here at Larkana Press Club a day before, the Minister said the Present government was implementing the vision of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto for the welfare of the downtrodden people of country. The Minister said the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has indicated those elements who were trying to destabilize the present democracy and government, so they are not sincere with the people and democracy she said. She said the President pointed out different institutions development for strengthen the present democratic system, so that the rights of people may be given to them without any discrimination. Sindh Information Minister pointed out that few undemocratic elements negatively obtained the speech of President, which he addressed to the Party as a Co-Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party on the eve of 2nd death anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. She stressed that the country spectators should work for the development of democracy and strengthens the country institutions and play their positive part, adding that the President Asif Ali Zaradri is driving country towards the path of success and development with the vision of a revolutionary leader Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and her reconciliation process with the political leaders. The Minister also said that the present democratic government came into power with the mendate of people and the President of Paksitan Asif Ali Zaradari who obtained two third majority in the parliament, which is a record in the history of country she said. She said the PPP has always sacrificed for the restoration of democracy and for the rights of people. Answering to a question, she said the UNO investigation team will present all the facts about the murder of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto within a month and the people will be informed accordingly, during her visit she heard news about the death of provincial minister Abdul Jaleel Memon, who was died in a road accident on the occasion and expressed grief over the sad demise and shocked over the tragic news. Earlier, she announced four computers for the newsroom of Press Club and assured the Media persons to resolve their issues on priority level.
