Resolution of Kashmir imperative for peace in South Asian Region

Srinagar: December 26, 2009. (PCP) In continuation to door to door campaign Senior Hurriyat Leader and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza on Saturday visited Vessu, Qazigund district Islamabad. While addressing an impressive gathering Waza urged India to give up obstinacy and take positive steps for the resolution of Kashmir dispute through negotiable settlement, while taking aspirations of common Kashmiris into consideration. Expressing satisfaction over the realization of the international community that the Kashmir dispute needs to be resolved, without any further delay and only way for emancipation is to give people of Kashmir as a region the opportunity to decide their political future by their own will and consent in accordance with chapter-I, clause 3 of UNO (Right to Self Determination), Waza Said.. The settlement of the Kashmir dispute is imperative not only for South Asia but also for the world peace, Mukhtar said, adding that the international human rights organizations are urged to send their representatives to Kashmir in order to take cognizance of the miserable plight of Kashmiri detainees languishing in different jails and interrogation centers, unmarked graves, extra-judicial killings, tortures, rapes and thefts Mukhtar Waza maintained that Kashmir issue being more human than political, the world Samaritans must address the sufferings of naïve Kashmiris, so we must be having the criterion that let we not inherit Kashmir in bad state of affairs to upcoming generation. Mukhtar Waza reiterated that sincere efforts of world powers especially America, without their polemics can bring the contending parties of Kashmir dispute to the reconciliation which will usher the way for the durable and dignified resolution of Kashmir.
