Islamabad: December 21, 2009. (PCP) A Pakistani Bishop who is famous for his Press Conferences and Press Statements to support military dictators and democratic governments in Pakistan rather than evangelism speaks again in Religious Harmony gathering organized by present regime in Islamabad where Prime Minister Yousaf Gillani was presiding demanding a notification to call Christians in Pakistan to be a “Masihi Bradari” instead of “Esaaie Bradri’ and keeps silent against blasphemy law which is targeting Pakistani Christians. The same honorable Bishop of Church of Pakistan earned VVIP status by welcoming “Hadood Ordinance” of General Zial-ul-Haq and later appreciated “Islamic Law” in Jurist Conference in Lahore called by then Premier Nawaz Sharif. The Pakistan Clergy always speaks to repeal blasphemy law to collect funds for their vested interest on their tours to Western Countries but refrains to demand repeal of blasphemy law in their meetings with Pakistani rulers whenever they avail such opportunity. The Blasphemy law is used by Islamic extremists in Pakistan to kill Christians and year 2009 witnessed worst attacks of Muslim mobs on Christian life and property when hundreds of homes were destroyed, Churches were burnt down, Holy Bibles were desecrated, worshipers were gunned down and Christian were burnt alive. The Muslim Community in Pakistan calls Christians “Esaaie Bradari” as they claim Holly Quran not mention “Masihia” but “Essa” to Lord Jesus Christ. The Christians in Pakistan are treated as infidels by religious Muslim fanatics and incidents of threatening letters to ‘Convert to Islam or die’ have risen in 2009. The year 2009 was also worst year when gang rape of Christian women, enforced conversion and abduction for Christian women to marry by Muslims was at peak. The honorable Bishop kept silent on all incidents of Christian persecution in Pakistan in presence of Prime Minister Gillani and made a surprise demand of calling Christians to be “Masihi Bradri” which means “Masihi Community’ to keep himself in headlines instead of raising issue of blasphemy law which might have annoyed Prime Minister. The present government of Pakistan have announced amendment in blasphemy law instead of repeal of such Islamic laws but still no bill have been presented in parliament. The PPP government have imposed one Shahbaz Bhatti as Minority Minister who was selected by PPP as Member of Parliament without any election and he speaks his masters voice and invites clergy in his gathering who may also join in his voice to praise his masters. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC urged government of Pakistan to repeal blasphemy law by an executive order instead of any such notification on minor issue of “Masihi Bradari” “Why these Bishops who are enjoying Feudal Lords lifestyle in Pakistan concentrate on evangelism instead of issuing political statements and reserve 50% seats for poor Christians in educational institutions which they are running like business concerns’ said Nazir Bhatti Nazir S Bhatti said “International Forums must keep an eye on sub-standard policies of such Bishops and Minority Minister who voice against blasphemy law in tours to West but seal their lips in Pakistan” “Give 20 million Pakistan Christian chance to elect their representatives in parliament by their votes instead of selection by Muslim political parties that Christians have true and clear voice of their demands” added Nazir Bhatti
