Church sponsored programme helped two children to go to Copenhagen Submit

Bhopal, India: December 21, 2009. (PCP) Church sponsored Matr Chaav Abiyan , (Shading the Mother Earth Movement), helps two children to get selected to the Copenhagen Climate Submit which attracted the attention of the world. Ramsa Sajid and Aadya Dube got selected to the World Climate Submit from India through a national level essay competition held through out the country. Today the Matr Chaav Abiyan and Harmony Foundation jointly felicitated the children at a function organized at St. Mary’s School, Bhopal, M.P. Both the students expressed gratitude to the organizers of the Matr Chaav Abiyan and Save Green Gold which helped them to get selected to this world submit at Copenhagen. The children have promised to be with the movement to attract more children into this activity. The organizers also felicitated St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School for the best implementation of the programme and Sr. Regi cmc of the Carmel Girls Higher Secondary School, BHEL, Bhopal, for supporting the children to become promoters of environmental programmes. The youngest delegate of the Climate Submit Ramsha Sajid, a tenth class student, said, “we need to take up this upheaval task individually. As a student I suggest that use less paper, use refills rather than buying new pens etc. such steps can help save earth movement.” While the other participant Aadya Dube tells, “ even small steps by individuals can help to save this earth. Let us not wait for others to do the job but take up this task as a mission, serving the earth is serving the mother.” Children says that Matr Chaav Abiyan is a practical programme that motivates children to support growing trees. Since we get marks , it motivates to do better. This programme can be a big helping hand to support the green earth. Matr Chaav Abiyan had become popular in the media this year with marks attached to the children who joins the scheme. Fr. Anand Muttungal, Director of the Matr Chaav Abiyan, welcome the children. He said, “ the selection of children belonging to this movement has given us a hope that more children will join the scheme. It can definitely help children to become part of the efforts to save this earth and make it a better place to live. The process of selecting children was a tough process says Mrs. Sujatha Srivastav, the teacher, ‘ World Wide Federation India in collaboration with environmental ministry conducted a National Essay Competition titled, “Prtvi Ratn National Essay Competition, the topic given to the age group of 16 to 18 was Youth Contribution to Environmental Protection, and the second group was of 19 to 21. First round was from school then to regional level and then to state level. The state winners were called to Delhi for futhur competition and interview.” She said, “ our two girls , one from Hindi section and one from English section, got selected through this process. Both of them are from the age group of 16 to 18 and the other group was represented by a gild from Delhi and Patna.” It is to be noted that all the four delegates are girls. After an evaluation Mart Chaav Abiyan honoured St. Mary Higher Secondary School for implementing the scheme well. Principal Sr. Mary Sebastian said, “ We have motivated children to take up this as one of the best gift to mother earth, we have more and more children joining it.” When asked about the participation of two Children in the Copenhagen Climate Submit from Carmel School, Sr. Regi cmc, says, “ I think that we can contribute a lot to the climate change, if we work together it can change the face of the earth. I congradulate the children, the teachers and parents.” The Chairman of the Harmony Foundation L S Herdena has congratulated the Children and said, “ we need to forgo even our comfort to save this earth from eternal distraction.”
