Karachi: December 18, 2009. (PCP) Pakistan Christian Congress PCC, Central Council office have announced nomination of Ms Agnes Massey as President of Canadian Chapter of PCC here today.
Ms. Agnes Massey is a senior advocate of Lahore Bar association and famous human right activist in Pakistan. Her services for Christian women and children are well recognized among community. She rendered free legal assistant to victims of blasphemy and always raised voice to repeal blasphemy law. Ms. Agnes Massey is currently in a process to do Bar in Canada.
Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC congratulated Agnes Massey on her nomination as President of PCC Canada Chapter and welcomed her in PCC.
"Agnes Massey is a dedicated and committed leader and PCC will be more strong after her joining PCC" said Nazir Bhatti
PCC central office also announced that Ms. Agnes Massey will represent Pakistan Christian Congress on International Forums in Canada for awareness of situation of Christians in Pakistan. She will also follow up Petition filed by PCC with offices of UN to grant Refugee Status to Christians and shall present memorandums to draw attention of government of Canada to press upon government of Pakistan for equal basic democratic rights of 20 million Pakistani Christians.
Ms. Agnes Massey, President of Canada Chapter of PCC shall nominate Nine Member Council of Canadian Chapter of PCC and shall nominate regional representatives till February 01, 2009.
Nazir S Bhatti paid homage to Mr. Raymond Durrani and Joseph Patres for their services to establish Canada Chapter of PCC and termed them true friends of Christian Nation in Pakistan.
