LARKANA: December 12, 2009. (Nazir Siyal for PCP) Several Protest demonstrations were observed for their demands here out side the Larkana Press Club on Saturday.
According to details, daily wages employees of National Highway Authority (NHA), temporary employees of National Program for Improvement of Watercourses in Sindh (NPIW), Sindh Employees United Grand Alliance, and Test passed candidates of Higher School Teachers, Junior School Teachers, and Primary School Teachers on the occasion held their protest demonstrations against their objectives.
The protesters demanded from the present government to fulfill their demands.
While other, a large number of residences of Muhalla Murad Wahan, Lahori Muhalla and other areas staged protest demonstration against the Taluka administration for negligence of cleanliness facilities in the various parts of the city.
They demanded to dispose off stagnant sewerage water from their streets, houses and provide them amenities. They said the sweepers are not performing their duties at their Muhallas, despite of their continue protests for the cleanliness.
They appealed higher authorities to look into the matter and to take notice of such negligence of the concerned department.
On the occasion, NHA representatives including Riaz Hussain Dhakan, Manzoor Chandio, Aslam Langah, Shakil Chandio, NPIW representatives including Mohammed Ayoob Burdi, Noman Chana, Ayaz Abro, Waqar Shah, Shakil Soomro, the representatives of Grand Alliance Larkana including Sayed Raza Ali Shah, Piral Dayo, Mohammed Sabir Soomro, Manzoor Aheer, Mohammed Ibrahim Jatoi, Nazir Ahmed Bhutto and others participated in the protests.
Meanwhile, Government School Teachers Association (GASTA) organized a public meeting in connection with up coming central election of the union here at the Auditorium Hall af Government Pilot Higher Secondary School Larkana on Saturday.
On the occasion, Abdul Rasheed Chandio, Bashir Ahmed, G. M Abro and large number of teachers and president of 14 district and tehsil office bearers spoke in the election campaign gathering.
They said the teachers of Sindh were facing many problems despite of their continued struggle but their problems were not resolved by the present and previous governments.
They said the teachers were playing a nation building role in the country but they are neglected for their common rights, the teachers are suffering numerous problems of bonuses, increments, allowances, son quota and other facilities.
The office bearers of the GASTA surprised on the discriminative part of government policies that the Punjab province salaries are higher than the Sindh teachers' salaries, while they are waiting for the son quota also.
