TDAP seminar on Rice cultivation.

LARKANA: November 26, 2009. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) Trade and Development Authority of Paksitan (TDAP) arranged a seminar on "Best Practice in Rice cultivation and Harvesting" was held here with collaboration of District Government Larkana at local hotel on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, the Director General Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (Regional Office Sindh) Bashir Ahmad Shaikh has said that the main objective of the seminar was to inform Abadgars/growers new modern methods of Rice Cultivation in order to increase per Acre yield in one hand and on the other hand the ways and means of export of Irri-6 rice. He said that Irri-6 was the huge production of this area may be exported under the specification provided by the Trade Development Authority so that more and more Irri-6 Rice may be exported and the benefit in this regard may be provided to the Abadgars. He also said that the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan was trying its utmost to provide the technical know-how to the Abadgars for the best practice in the Rice Cultivation and Harvesting at their door steps so that the per Acre production of Rice may be increased and the exports of the Rice may be ensured in larger interest of the Country, in this way the more foreign exchange will come in the country and the economic position of the country may be boosted up in due course of time. He said that the trade Development Authority was working in various sectors included Textile Engineering, Mines and Minerals Services and other sectors. On the occasion the president of Rice Miller Owners Ghada Hussain Mahesar pointed out that this kind of awareness seminars may be arranged in villages and small towns so that the 70% population which are living in the villages may be provided new methods of Rice Cultivation and technical Know-how of the best Rice Cultivation and Harvesting and enabling them how to implement the modern techniques of Agriculture in order to increase per Acre yield and he added that the new variety of paddy may be introduced so that more and more production of paddy may be ensured, and he also said that 52% of population was liking Rice. Abdul Majeed Shaikh president Sindh Hari Abadgars Board also spoke and gave a suitable suggestion for the promotion of trade and export of Irri-6 as well as informed that seminar regarding the new modern methods for best practice in Rice Cultivation and Harvesting from his experience. On the occasion Abdul Rehamn, Imdad Ali Soho, Siraj Rashidi and Muhammad Anwar also spoke on the occasion and presented their view point in this regard. Nasreen Ali Director Trade Development Authority (TDAP) of Pakistan welcomed and thanked the participants of the seminar. The seminar was largely attended by DDO Revenues Ameer Ali Abro, Ghulam Murtaza Shakh, Ghulam Shabir Sethar, Abdul Latif Joyo DO Agriculture and Representatives of Abadgars, Rice Millers, Chamber of Commerce and Industries and concerned officers. Meanwhile, JUI Senator Dr. Khalid Mehmood Soomro on thursday claimed that all Seminaries of Sindh will be converted as Human Development Social Centers with modern technical facilities, in this connection we are ready to donate all seminaries if the government collaboration is needed to fascilitate the people of country. This he said while distributing 150 wheel chairs among present 70 disables of Larkana district here at Jamia Al-Maddarsa Larkana. He said that 90 percent NGOs though out the country were not performing their actual role in the human services and most of them are fake and corrupt, but he offer the government sectors to take step to coordinate in the owing Maddarsahs/Seminaries of country regarding the social services equipped with all modern facilities included Ambulance services and priority centers of Hepatitis, ARV, Diabetes, T. B and other health and education facilities. Senator also said that he will invite all the Sindh parliamentary members to discuss the Sindh problems and demand for Sindh package as for Balochistan and NWFP announced. He said he demands for Oil and Gas royalty for Sindh, which is a yearly billions of amount will be expand on Sindh development he said
