Family of victim shot dead by Rangers protest in front of Larkana Press Club

LARKANA: November 16, 2009. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) A large number of male and female protesters separately observed token hunger strike out side the Press Club for their grievances here on Monday. According to reports, scores of women along with their children holding placards and banners inscribed slogans for justice. The heir women of deceased Mohammed Yousuf Chandio, who was allegedly shot dead by the Rangers few months back in Larkana, in this regard the Sindh High Court issued orders for arrest and lodging FIR against the accused, but yet the Civil Line police Larkana has not obeyed the court orders to arrest them. They demanded for justice and arrest of culprits involved in the alleged killing of Head Constable M. Yousuf Chandio. While, other group of women protesters of Gopang Community of Larkana city were protesting against fake cases and arrest of their male members by Larkana Police. They demanded to release their male members and protect them from police atrocities. Meanwhile, On the directives of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Sindh Law Minister Muhammad Ayaz Soomro and Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazhar-u-Haq took interest for the classes of B.Ed, M.Ed are restarting in Larkana from December, 11, 2009, under the supervision of Government College of Education Sukkur. The Sindh Law Minister said that the classes of B.Ed and M.Ed are restarting from December 11, 2009, in which an about 800 students of B.Ed and M.Ed of Larkana, Kamber- Shahdadkot will be benefited, he also said that present Government was giving priority to education and health sectors and sufficient funds were approved in the both sectors during the current financial year budget, and the efforts are being made to approve the new SNE for college of education Larkana in short possible time, and the new building in this regard will be constructed. Incharge principal of College of Education Larkana, Abdul Rasool Chandio informed that this college was running under the supervision of college of education Sukkur and the college is functioning in the premises Government Elementary College (Male) Larkano. He said that the last date of admission for the above classes has been fixed up to December 10, 2009, and the classes will be started from December 11, 2009. The principal of college of Education Sukkur Manthar Ali Bhutto today visited the college of education/Elementary in order to solve the problems of the college so that students may be admitted in B.Ed and M.Ed classes of Larkana in time. On the occasion the Principal of Government Elementary College Larkana for male Maqsood Ahamd Sahto was also present.
