LARKANA: October 29, 2009. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) JUI Senator and Chairman Standing Committee Local Government Dr. Khalid Mehmood Soomro has said the Larkana city has been ruined on the pretext of Larkana development package (LDP), which is a totally substandard and poor quality work has been witnessed by all the social and political as well the citizens of Larkana. He expressed these notions while addressing on the seminar titled “To save Larkana Seminar” organized by the Jamiat-u-Ulma-i-Islam (JUI) Larkana here on Thursday. The seminar was largely attended by all political, social and religious party leaders and workers. Addressing the seminar Senator Dr. Khalid Mehmood Soomro said that the billions of construction of road work was found substandard and all the Nalas/drains are upper level than the government and private buildings in Larkana. The citizens have condemned the contractors’ poor quality work as well as the PPP local leaders those have illegally embezzled and millions of commission have taken on work order Senator said. Dr. Khalid Soomro said the proper consultancy was not made regarding the construction of roads and drainage system and billions of rupees went in vein he said. He said that he has written a complaint letter to the Prime Minister for inspection and enquiry, he claimed that 1.5 billions have been released and misused by the authorities he said. The seminar presented 11 points resolutions were passed unanimously and conveyed to the present government for implementation. The seminar was attended by the PPP, PML-N, PPP-SB, JI, STP, Larkana Shehri Itehad, Traders, Abadgars and notables’ citizens of Larkana and others on the occasion. Meanwhile, Liberal Forum Pakistan (LFP) Larkana chapter will organize one day seminar on the “Promotion of Liberalism” here on Saturday. The chief guest of the program will be MPA Haji Munwer Ali Abbasi and civil society representatives will also participate in the seminar on the occasion. This was told by the LFP President Syed Talib Hussain Shah in his press statement. While, Jeay Sindh Mahaz (JSM) Larkana Chapter is organizing “Sindh Unity Conference” regarding the deprivation of Sindhi minorities and provincial sovereignty here at Labor Hall on Friday. On the occasion, Chairman JSM Sarwer Sahto and other guests among Jagdesh Ahooja, Azizullah Bohio, Qazi Faizullah, Soofi Huzoor Bux, Ali Nawaz Butt, Sajan Kalhoro and others.
