Islamabad: Asif Ali Zardari has traditionally greeted Sikh pilgrims, Hindus and other minorities on the occasion of Christmas, Holi and now Baisakh
Sialkot: September 18, 2009. (PCP report) The Christians in Pakistan have doubts on FIR registered against Muslim police and Sialkot Central Jail official who killed Christian accused of blasphemy Robert Danish on September 15, 2009, in custody.
The Christian youth in Pakistan views that enquiry committee of Punjab police will report in its findings that Robert Danish committed suicide and FIR charges will be dropped against Muslim police officials because such happens in Pakistan when Christians are victims.
Meanwhile, International Christian Concern (ICC) have reported that on September 7, a Pakistani court granted bail to 13 Muslims, including radical clerics who incited mob attacks against Christians, that resulted in 11 Christians being killed and over 40 Christians homes being burned down in Gojra.
Chief Justices Khawaja Muhammad Sharif and Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhary of the Lahore High court decided to grant the bail to the following: Bashir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Abid, Kaleem Ullah, Touqir Ahmed, Muhammad Yaqoob, Sajid Farooqi, Qari Majid Farooqi, Saeed Afzal, Rizwan Akram, Amer Hayyat and Muhammad Rehman.
Talking to PCP, Imran Emmanuel from Karachi said “We are not confident that killers of Robert Danish will be brought to justice but shall be freed after few months because Muslims have influence in government while Christians have not approach to high ups in administration”
Irma Kamran from Karachi also contacted PCP and said “ There is no justice for Christians in Pakistan and Christians leaders in government are touts of Muslim leaders and have no courage to voice for our rights”
Albert Samuel from Multan, in e-Mail to PCP wrote “ They will not repeal blasphemy law and incident like burning alive and killing Christian shall not stop in Pakistan. We have not approach to our Christian leaders because when we ask them to demand repeal of blasphemy law, they answer, did u voted for us, we are selected by Muslim parties and not bound to answer you”
There are rumors in Sialkot district that any time Muslims will attack Christian colonies and burn their homes.
