Islamabad: Asif Ali Zardari has traditionally greeted Sikh pilgrims, Hindus and other minorities on the occasion of Christmas, Holi and now Baisakh
The entire Pakistani Christian Community would like to thank you for the whole media presented & covered programmes on the issue of Gojra in which 8 Christians were killed in false blasphemy case.
Your debate, no doubt opened door in Pakistan that atleast media is free to discuss such issues. Although it was discussed almost a month to update and give knowledge at some extend, to those who forgot that minorities were not imported but are part of the planned Pakistan, which dreamed by “Quiad-e-Azam” on the equal rights. It was good effort to educate particularly those who adopted the elementary theory of Zia-ul-Haq and used practically in their daily life by persecuting Christians in Pakistan.
I believe all the efforts made in this connection have failed to protect and secure the minorities mainly Christians in Pakistan. The recent incident of Samrial - Sialkot, Pakistan where Christian boy named Robert Danish Alias Falish Maish who killed in Jail under the Police custody revealed that the mind set of fundamentalists are not yet changed and they can take law in their hands anytime.
Where we go wrong? Why they have taken law in their hands? Unfortunately the people captured in Gojra incident of killing 8 Christians, and torching churches were not punished. Why they have not charged? Only the stringent chastisement could stop such violence, regrettably no severe action was taken against them? Keeping them in jail is not the solution? No punishment was given to the murderers and the law breakers. Consequently the similar incident of Sambrial-Sialkot proved that the culprit has taken once again law in their hands, where they burned the church and destroyed the properties.
Where is justice? People were waiting for Chief Justice to take over the charge so that the poor and deprived people would get the justice. However there is not a single statement comes from him in regard with recent incidents happened with the Christians - why is that? He intervene in the cases of sugar and still mill’s crises but this issue is even more sensitive than those.
We are failed to protect the lives of the people in Jail? Who will take the responsibility of Robert Falish’s blood? Is that Federal Government? Is that Provincial Government? How the justice could be provided to the deprived family who lost their beloved son, even he was not involved in this case? Pakistani Christians are not imported or migrated they are equal citizen of Pakistan like the Muslims. The blasphemy law is sword hanging on the neck of Pakistani Christian.....this should be amended as soon as possible to the exact shape like it was before 1986.
Take the instant action against the people who destroyed the church and killed Robert Danish Alias Falish Maish.
Pray for the deprived family.
