Doctors urged to serve ailing humanity in remote areas of Sindh. Nisar Khuhro

LARKANA: September 16, 2009. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) Acting Governor/ Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmad Khuhro has urged upon the doctors to serve the ailing humanity in the remote areas of Larkana District, added that there legal and moral obligation to complete the dream of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto to provide health care facilities to the poor people at their door steps. This he said while addressing the covering “Hard Area Allowance/cheques distribution ceremony among the doctors and paramedical staff under the Peoples Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI) Program arranged by the district support unit PPHI Larkana at local hotel here on Tuesday. Nisar Khuhro further said that the Basic Health Units and government dispensaries were established during 1988 and 1993 in order to achieve the objectives of the health issues in the far and flung areas to serve the people of Pakistan and it was also the dream and mission of the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto he added. He criticized the past governments during the last 13 years they could not develop and maintained Basic Health Units/Government dispensaries, as well as they could not be provided medical care to the poor people. He expressed satisfaction over the working, which was briefed by the District Support Manager PPHI Mustafa Kamal regarding the doctors and paramedical staff working at 47 basic health units/Government dispensaries, whereas the participation of community is also appreciable and massive working in the far and flung areas of Larkana district He appreciated the efforts of the management of PPHI in which out of 47 health centers, as they are working properly about 26 health centers completed and five more Health centers work in progress. Nisar Ahmad Khuhro also said that provision of the Hard Area Allowance to the doctors and the paramedic staff was a good step and it is a responsibility of the son of the soils to come forward and cooperate with the management PPHI program as to get benefit from the program. He said that the money was spent on the program from the tax of peoples and it is the responsibility to provide free treatment to the people of remote areas under the program, added that this program is extended in 18 districts of the province which is the good efforts of the present PPP government he said. The DCO Larkana Mr. Muhammad Jaffar Abbasi peaking on the occasion stressed the need on the quality of the medicines and coordination among the PPHI officers and district administration. The regional Director PPHI Larkano while speaking on the occasion, he told that this program was started by PPP leaders Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohterma Benazir Bhutto, so that we all were struggling to complete the mission in the interest of the poor people of country. On the occasion Khair Muhammad Shaikh vice president PPP Larkana District said that it is the peoples program and was started for the down trodden people of the country by the present people’s government, which is called for the people, of the people and by the people he told. In this way, the people will get healthcare facilities in their respective areas he said. The district support manager PPHI Unit Larkana Mustafa Kamal Tagar briefed the performance of the program by multimedia presentation and showed the performance of departments in details. Later, they unfold that they were providing an amount of Rs. 7000 to doctors as Hard Area Allowance per month and Rs. 3000 to paramedical staff in category-I and in category-II, providing an amount of Rs. 4000 to doctors and Rs. 2000 to paramedical staff. He also briefed the categories of the centers progress according to the category A the doctors and paramedical staff of BHU Izat Ji Wandh, BHU Bakkar Karia and Government Dispensary, which was included and in category B the doctors and paramedical staff of Government Dispensary Mangria BHU Veeher, BHU Seehar Government Dispensary Bahman and BHU Wasayo Bhutto were also included. On the occasion Nisar Ahmad Khuhro distributed cheques of Hard Area Allowance among the 8 doctors and 14 paramedical staff of both categories as mentioned. The ceremony was largely attended by PPP leaders Muhammad Amin Shaikh, Noor-u-Din Abro, prominent citizens, doctors and large number of paramedical staff and high officials on the occasion.
