Will Punjab government protect Okara Military Farm Christian’s from Islamic militants?

Pakistan: September 8, 2009. (PCP report) The Islamic militants and extremist Muslims groups have planned another attack on Christians on accusations of Blasphemy in Chak 8/4L in district Okara in Punjab province of Pakistan. The Chak 8/4L is in vicinity of Military Farms which is now under jurisdiction of Okara Cantonment area but fear of safety and security of Christians sparked when on September 6, 2009, few Muslim women blamed that they found torn pages of Holy Quran in front of house of a Christian in the village. The Chak 8/4L came in limelight when Pakistan Armed Forces with pressure took over agricultural land of this Christian village by force and many Christian protestors were gunned downed by establishment a decade ago. The Muslims also started settling in this Christian village after formation of military cantonment and at present Muslims have very sizeable population in Chak8/4L. The Muslim women who picked torn pages of Holy Quran started shouting to inform Muslim men that “Christians have desecrated Holy Quran” The tension is rising in this Christian village and Gojra like incident can happen any moment if Punjab government turns eyes away from situation. Meanwhile, Mr. Shahzad Francis of BETHAK have informed that situation of Gojra has taken another turn that same of the Muslim religious scholars have distributed pamphlets blaming Rev. Fr. Aftab James Paul, Rev. Fr. Khalid Rasheed Asi and Rev. Fr. Shafiq and some other persons that these persons were responsible of creating all violence by providing fire arms to the Christians of Gojra. A political figure of PML(N) Hamza has given a statement against the Christians of Gojra that they were being helped by foreign agencies as well as by the government of Pakistan , these Christian were responsible for his failure in election. The present regime has given to most importance to the Gojra incident by favoring the Christians.
