LARKANA: September 08, 2009. (Nazir Siyal for PCP) Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Chawla has said that the present (PPP) government in various departments promoted four hundred employees through District Promotion Committees (DPC) and improved the performance of the departments as the appointments were made in this regard. This he said while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Motor Registration Online System at Old Excise and Taxation Office Larkana here on Monday. The Minister said that the system is being extended to the province on which an amount of Rs. 1.4 million is being spent in this regard; while now the system has inaugurated in Larkana under the directives of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah. He said that all the vehicles of Larkana Region will be registered at Larkana online and no one will bother to go to Karachi for the registration purpose, the problems of property tax system will also be computerized and online it will be submitted all the quarries. He said the remaining promotions will be given to employees of the department on merit basis within one month through DPC. The Minister also said that the present PPP government is committed to provided facilities to the people at their door step and he will try to his best to provide buildings to the Excise and Taxation department in Larkana, in this regard the summery will be submitted to the chief Minister Sindh for approval. The Minister also said that with the efforts of the department 35% more tax was collected against the target given to the department. The Minister also directed to the officers that to behave with the people in a polite way and solve their problems without any delay, on the occasion secretary Excise and Taxation Mr. Mohsin Haqani, special Secretary Manzoor Ahmad Memon, Director General Shueb Ahmad were present. On the occasion the director Excise and Taxation Larkana Ahmad Hussain Solangi wellcomed the Minister and highlighted the performance of the officials of the department in Larkana region. Latter the Minister visited Larkana press club and he announced the amount Rs. 1 lac for the press club from his own pocket. Earlier the Minister visited the Mazar of Shuhda and laid floral wreathes on the Mazars of Shuhda at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto.
