LARKANA: September 3, 2009. (Nazir Siyal for PCP) Federal Minister for youth Affairs Shahid Hussain Bhutto has urged upon the officers of Works and Service, Public Health Engineering Departments to gear up their efforts to complete the development schemes in stipulated time and ensure the quality of the work so that the people may be benefited from government policy. Federal Minister while presiding over a high level meeting to review the progress of development schemes here at circuit house larkana on Thursday, he directed the Hesco authorities in Larkana to ensure the electricity during the Sehri and Aftar timings as well Tarawiyah (prayers). He said the WAPDA should provide relief to the common people during the Holy Month of Ramadan. During the meeting DCO Larkana Muhammad Jaffar Abbasi briefed about the progress of Larkana development schemes, he said that the drainage Nala along with the roads were being constructed under the design mentioned in the PC-I and the quality is according to the specification given in the PC-I. On the occasion S.E public Health Engineering department also briefed the meeting that the drainage Nala is being extended under the requirement of the people of Larkana City. The meeting was also informed that a master plan will be prepared for 6 towns of upper Sindh area included Larkana city with foreign funded program by Asian development Bank with cost of Rs. 380 Million, in water supply and drainage schemes the X.E.N roads, District Officer Roads Zaheer Ahamd Aghani else Faiz Mohammed informed the meeting that an amount of Rs. 4 million were provided to the Hesco authorities for removing old electric poles, which were on roads in the city. The XEN Hesco Niaz Baloch also informed the meeting that the new electric pools are being installed on roads side of the rice canal. Federal Minister Shahid Bhutto ordered that the electric poles may be installed on rice canal on population side that the people living there may be benefited. During the meeting the DO Education works also informed that 30 development schemes are under construction and to be completed in due course of time, while the EDO Agriculture informed that 60 thousand plants of different trees are being planted during the monsoon tree plantation season. Besides, XEN provincial buildings Larkano who is also PD CMC Larkana briefed the meeting that the work on 30 development schemes was being carried out and to be completed in stipulated time. The meeting was attended by all the concerned.
