Provide shelter to Christian homeless of Islamabad: Senator Zafar Ali Shah

Islamabad: August 27, 2009. (PCP) Senator Syed Zafar Ali Shah said that government must provide shelter to the effectees of Chak Shehzad Police Action before coming Eid, otherwise problem will not be the problem of just 500 families any more. He was addressing at a procession arranged by a Former Federal Minister Julius Salik Convener World Minorities Alliance. Further he warned that this problem will be not any more, the matter of only 500 families of minorities it will turn into the matter of political parties, lawyers, civil society and all factors of the Nation. We shall take a direct action and shall protest for the rights of these poor families of Chak Shehzad. The dignitaries who attended the “unjusitice festival” were Senator Syed Zafar Ali Shah, Sardar Ismatullah, President Lahore High Court Bar Association Rawalindi Bench , Malik Shehzad Ahmed Ghebah President Islambad Bar Association, Haji Tousif Asif President Rawalpindi District bar association, Niaz ullah Khan Niazi President District Bar association and Rev. Father Anwar Patrus Gill. Carring Portrait of Mother Tressa “Regarded and one of the prominent symbol of struggle for rights of poor and down trodden.’’ The protestors marched on the street and chanted slogans against the apathy of concerned authorities. Haji Touseef said that our Christian brothers and sistster have been displaced from their houses and now they are living on green belt under open skies in this warm weather. Its is shameful for government that they are facing it since 100 days but no one from authorities showed up to share their feelings. He said that they took part in movement of lawyers to restore justice in country and now they are waiting and cry for justice and no one is listening to them. J Salik said that who are these people sitting in government to throw out poor families from their homes in presence of 3 stay orders from honorable courts. He said if government does not show up to help these poor, he in Havens shall help these people. The Police action was taken against 500 Christian families living in slums in presence of 3 stay orders from Honorable courts of Mr. Tarique Basheer Civil Judge Islamabad., Mr. Azfar Sultan Civil Judge, Islamabad and Ms.Nadia Akram Malik Civil Judge Islamabad.47 women were abducted and detained all night in private camps, further an old man Baba Basheer died due to after effects of tear gas used during brutal police action. Chief Justice of Pakistan has been appealed to provide poor families relief through so-mo-to action.
