Pakistani Christian pay homage to PCA on successful demonstration in front on UNO: PCC

Islamabad: August 14, 2009. (PCP report) Mr. Morris Sadiq, Secretary General of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC hailed Pakistani Christian Association in North America PCA to organize a demonstration in front of United Nations Offices in New York and to present memorandum to Secretary General UNO, Ban-Ki Moon to repeal blasphemy laws in Pakistan. PCA organized rally in front of UNO on August 11, 2009, to protest burning alive of Christian children and women in Gojra, Punjab which was participated by Rah-e-Haq Church, Presbyterian Church, Catholic Church and Revival Church in New York. Christian community leaders of New York and Philadelphia were also present along with large gathering. The Protestors were holding play cards “Stop killing Christians in Pakistan” “Repeal Blasphemy Law” “Arrest killers of Christians” “We condemn burning alive of Christians” “ Give us Pakistan of quaid-e-Azam not of millitants” and chanting slogans. Pakistani Muslim leaders in New York also condemn Gojra incident in their speeches. Mr. James, W. Cyprian performed duties of stage secretary. A five member committee of PCA, comprising of Mr. William Shahzad, Chairman PCA, Rev, Father of Pakistani Catholic Church in New York, Mr. Arif Jutt, Chief Organizer of protest and ex-President of PCA presented signed petition to UNO Secretary General offices. It was large gathering to mourn Martyrs of Gojra who were gunned down and burnt alive by Muslim militants on August 1, 2009, in Punjab Pakistan. Mr. Morris Sadiq paid homage to Mr. William shahzad and Arif Jutt, leaders of PCA to raising voice in UNO for persecuted Pakistani Christians
