Gojra: August 11, 2009. (PCP report) At the appeal of Human Rights Focus (hrf) Pakistan the minorities celebrated the 11th August as ;Black Day; through out the Pakistan. Naveed Walter, president Human Rights Focus Pakistan(HRFP) condemned the recent attacks on Christians. He demanded the amendments in blasphemy laws carries a death penalty and there is no punishment is available for making a false accusation that some one was guilty of the crime. In this case the Government announced that there’s no proof of blasphemy; of the Quran ever took place in korian and Christian colony Gojra, Now who is the responsible for this incident? Who will give the punishment to that people who accused to innocent Christians, he added. Naveed Walter today addressed to the effected people at Christian Colony-Gojra at ; black day; and by agreeing the appeal of HRFP the Churches, organizations and individuals flew the black flags at their houses/offices, banded the black ribbon around arms and arranged the prayer meetings and especially programs. HRFP also requested to the donors, individuals and charity organizations for their contributions to help the Christians deal with the needs of housing and food while their homes are restored and their lives re-assembled, he added more. Mr.William Parkash, HRF Coordinator for Gojra also addressed to the effected people at Christian Colony Gojra. Today at HRFP appeal, in Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad and Khushpur (sammundri) the minorities celebrated the black day in the same way.
