Christian hail Asyia Nasir walk out from NA session and to join “Black Day’

Islamabad: August 7, 2009. (PCP report) Pakistani Christians are paying homage to MNA Asyia Nasir on her decision to lead “Black Day” protest on August 11, 2009, in front of Islamabad Press Club, to condemn atrocities on Christians. Asyia Nasir, Member of National Assembly walked out of session when Shahbaz Bhatti, Federal Minister for Minorities was presented government report on incident of Gojra where Christians were burnt alive and 6o homes were set on fire by Muslim militants. In lobby of National Assembly, Asyia Nasir announced “I shall participate in Black Day instead on Minority Day” Mr. J Salik, former federal minister, Xavier William Coordinator PCC, and other leaders will also observe Black Day on August 11, 2009, in Islamabad which seems to be joint event after announcement of Asyia Nasir. The Lahore, Karachi, Multan and other cities of Pakistan, Christians are also preparing for protests on August 11, 2009, to show unity on “Black Day” and express solidarity with Christians of Gojra, Korian Wala and Bahamin Wala. The government and Christian connected to PPP minister Shahbaz Bhatti are harassing Christians in Pakistan to not observe Black Day. There are rumors that Shahbaz Bhatti and Kamran Michael both minister of PPP and PML(N) are insisting government to impose section 144 to prohibit public assembly in major cities of Punjab, Sindh and capital area.
