London: August 6, 2009. (PCP report) Following the recent horrific attack on the Christians of Gojra in Pakistan where seven innocent Christians were burnt alive and more than 50 houses were set on fire and two Churches ransacked over the false accusation of the desecration of the Quran. Like other series of barbaric attacks in the past on peaceful Christians living in Pakistan these rumours of desecration which led this killing and unrest in the troubled area also have been found baseless by the Pakistani officials.
We the Christians living in the UK have protested on numerous times against such kinds of attacks on our community living in Pakistan. It seems that all our efforts of protest in different ways remained futile, but it doesn’t mean that now we should keep quiet and bear these suffering without doing anything. It needs to bring a change in our strategy of efforts therefore, the Pakistani and Indian local Christians have decided to protest in front of Pakistan High Commission here in London on July, 11, 2009 from 2pm till 5pm. We are also planning to get permission from authorities for Hunger Strike. We have also decided to person ‘’Gaibana Namaz-e-Janaza’’ Service of Gojra victims in front of Pakistan High Commission. We will also lay flowers in the honour of those, who lost their lives.
With the consent of all Christians and leading organizations living in the UK it is decided to take a meaningful and a strong action against the unjust treatment towards Christians and also other minorities living in Pakistan.
Rev. Nobel samuel, Javed Iqbal, Imran Joseph and Taskeen Khan have appealed to join to raise a loud voice in unity and harmony by covering this peaceful protest.
