I am a pastor in Iraq. From Back to the Bible International Ministries.

We just received an urgent communication from the Middle East regarding one of our scholarship recipients from last fall. One particular young man felt God's specific leading a few month's back to return to his native Iraq to pastor a church in Basra, Iraq -- the exact city surrounded by coalition forces right now! Although we can't share his name with you for obvious security reasons, he urgently needs your prayers for his safety and the safety of his congregation during the crisis in Iraq in general and Basra in particular. As you may already know our March Mission Project is the strategically important International Scholarship Fund, also known as the "Train A Pastor Project." This program helps provide the resources necessary to train pastors, teachers and Christian leaders for the local church in developing countries around the world. Did you know that nearly 7000 students have benefitted from our scholarship program since its inception in 1973 - and countless additional thousands through their ministries? Our supplemental assistance to students is often the difference between enrolling in a Bible-training program and being sent home for lack of funds - especially for students from impoverished or war-torn countries. Unfortunately, nearly 100 otherwise-qualified students were turned down last year due to lack of funds. Our typical scholarship award provides anywhere from 10 to 60 percent of a student's total expenses and fees for the school year - depending on the location. The ISF is a wonderful opportunity for believers to sow into the rich fields of foreign missions. There is great turmoil and unrest in Europe and Asia right now, making it critical that Christian leaders are in place to provide spiritual direction for those who are seeking the truth. Will you consider partnering with us to train pastors and teachers this month? Pray what God would have you do in these final days of the March Mission Project.
