Chief Minister’s Enquiry Committee probes corruption in CMC hospital

LARKANA: July 23, 2009. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) Chief Minister’s inquiry team led by an enquiry Officer Dr. Abdul Karim Khawaja President Peoples Doctors Forums Sindh arrived at CMC Hospital Larkana for probing into the matter of corruption in the CMC Hospital funds Larkana, ghost employees, unauthorized, fake jobs and various embezzlements during the period of former Medical Superintendent Syed Mehboob Shah. On the occasion, Enquiry Officer Dr. Abdul Karim Khawaja held meeting with MS Larkana Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Siyal and collected all related documents, orders copies, list of ghost employees and others proofs. While talking to this scribe Dr. Abdul Karim Khawaja said that the team was sent at CMC Hospital Larkana by Chief Minister Sindh Sayed Qaim Ali Shah to look into the matters of ghost employees and unauthorized appointments, which were made by Ex- MS Larkana. He told that he visited the civil hospital CMC Teaching Hospital, Shaikh Zaid Women and Children hospital units and met with doctors, Para Medical Staff and all stake holders regarding the inquiry matter. He said that there are more than 156 Ghost employees from 1 Grade to 17 and 18 Grade including Doctors and other para Medical Staff, added that, he will submit the fact finding report to the Chief Minister Sindh very soon. Meanwhile, hundreds activists of Awami Tahreek district Larkana on the central call took out protest rally against the terrorism and settlement of IDPs in Sindh Rally led by central vice president Sartaj Ahmed Chandio, which was started from Zulfiqar Bagh and marching through various roads reached at Jinnah Bagh chowk, where the protestors holding banners placards chanted slogans in favour of their demands. On the occasion, central leaders Sartaj Ahmed Chandio, central vice president Sindh water Tahreek Husna Rahojo, Munwar Jatoi, Nisar Buriro, Abrar Abro addressing alleged said that present government has handed over the natural resources of Sindh nad employment to outsiders in Sindh. They said that terrorists, dacoits and feudal lords have controlled on in educational institutions and other resources, they demanded of government provide right of resources to sons of soil otherwise they would continue their protest. While other, large number of Teachers of All Sindh Primary Teachers Association Dadu District led by Lala Ali Hayder Qureshi President PTA, Taluka General Secretary Mansoor Ali Kalhoro, Ali Hassan Shahani, Bashir Ali Kalhoro and others staged protest demonstration out side local press club Larkana against the Officials of National Bank of Pakistan Dadu here on Wednesday. On the occasion, Primary Teaches Association leader addressing said that poor teachers of Dadu and facing many hardships owing to non provision of loan, they alleged on manager NBP Dadu Ali Bux Charan, operation manager Ali Raza Soomro, Disburse officer Rehana Jamali that mentioned above officers were demanding the bribe of 5000 on each case they said. PTA leaders said that more than 250 loan cases of teachers are still in pending, bank official have deliberately kept cases for bargaining. They called for immediate inquiry of matter and take action against the corrupt officers.
