World Population Day observed

LARKANA: July 11, 2009. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) The World Population Day was celebrated in Larkana district, on the occasion awareness walk carrying play cards, banners was taken out from DPP Chowk Via Station Road and culminated at Larkana Press Club. On the occasion, District Population Welfare Officer Larkana Muhammad Wasim Hashmi, NGO representatives including M. Panjal Sangi, Lala Maqbool Mashori, Dr. Khadeja Mahesar and large number of Population Welfare workers LHVs, Social Moblizers and activists participated in the walk. In this regard a Seminar was also held at local Hotel, the Theme of Seminar was “To Control on Population Birth, which is far better Society” and the Empowerment of the women in the society. The seminar was presided over by the District Population Welfare Officer Larkana. Speaking on the occasion he said that present government was taken all out efforts to provide awareness from town to town and village to village so that the birth may be controlled, in order to growth rate of the Population may be decreased and the NGOs in this regard play important role to motivate the people from the aims and objective of the Population Welfare Programme being carried out at grass root level. On the occasion Panjal Sangi Chairman Coordinating Committee of the NGOs of Larkana District, Dr. Khudeja Mahesar, Lala Maqbool and others also spoke high about the population welfare progarmme and said that this day was being celebrated through out the world. The purpose of the programme is by implementing the modern methods to Control the 60 percent growth rate of the Population by year 2010 in the country and by year 2020. Population growth Rate will be decreased that the target may be achieved by adopting the Modern Techniques and provide rights to the women in the society, in this regard the present government was implementing the methods to empowerment the women in the society with the result today in our country the women are playing their role in parliament, in different departments, NGOs, Social Welfare Association as well as working in Agriculture Sector in order to boost up the economy of the country. Meanwhile, Central Chairman Sindh Shahri Ithad Khaksar Haji Nisar Ahmed Shaikh in press conference said that SSI is striving hard to root out tribal clash and other disputes in different communities on Sindh level. In this connection, he said a peace delegation led by himself visited the village Bali Shah, Taluka Mehar and met with victims family of accident in which three children one son and wife of Ghulam Qambar Solangi were killed in collision with car and tractor few days back. Nisar Shaikh said that Ghulam Qambar Solangi has pardoned off to accused with out compensation of blood money of four killing in a accident, he said that earlier, the peace delegation had visited the village Aqil to settle on going tribal clash between Khuhra, Chandio, Gaad Community, they all groups have agreed to reconcile each other now he said.
