LARKANA: July 9, 2009. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) Federal Minister for Communication Arbab Alamgir Khan on Wednesday said that present democratic government has been elected to change the system because masses is the great judge to evaluate the performance. He expressed these notions, while talking to the media men during the inspection of approach road and visit of Larkana Khairpur Bridge here at Indus River near Moen-Jo-Daro. Federal Minister said there is dire need to change prevailing system in country to resolves the various issues through transparent manner. To a quarry, he said operation will be continued in SWAT and other parts of NWFP till the maintenance of peace added that “terrorist activities will not be tolerated at any cast” because anti Islamic and anti-state elements will be dealt with iron hands. Arbab Aalamgir Khan said that government is striving hard to complete operation as soon as possible but it will take time to root out the terrorism. He said that various mega projects are underway including three man bridges on Indus River will be constructed and NHA will monitor all the schemes and quality accordingly. He said President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousif Raza Gillani are keenly interested in the development of NHA projects in country including Sindh, he said. He further said that monitoring teams are checking their quality control of 18 billions projects of NHA, including Ratodero to Naudero, Sehwan to Ratodero, luckhy to Larkana, Kandhkot to Ghotki, Kazi Ahmed, Malaka Tayar and others. On the occasion, Chairman NHA Chudhary Altaf Hussain briefed Minister regarding on going development package Larkana, he said Larkana-Khairpur approach road 1.25 is being constructed with cast of Rs. 1442 millions 75 percent work has been completed so for and he expressed hope that remaining work will be completed in October 2009. He further told that approach road from both sides is being constructed up to June 2010, the 34 Kilometers approach roads from Tando Masti to Khairpur 10 Km approach road to Moen-jo-daro and from Larkana-Khairpur bridge to 12 Km approach road are being constructed to facilitated the people of both districts. On the occasion, Secretary Communication Sharif Ahmed Khan, NHA Board Members Syed Akbar Ali Rashidi, Mir Hassan Rind, Khadim Hussain Qureshi, Shah Maqsood Khan and General Managers other officials were present.
