LARKANA: June 24, 2009. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) On the special directives of President Asif Ali Zardari numerous facilities provided to the Sindh Police, especially in Sukkur police region. These directives issued by the President in the briefing by the senior police officials of Sukkur police region during his recent visit at President House Naudero. The briefing was attended by the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Sindh Home Minister Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza, Sindh law Minister Mohammed Ayaz Soomro, MNA Faryal Talpur, RPO Sukkur Police Region Mohammed Ramzan Channa, DIG Police Larkana Zone Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi, DPO Larkana and other concerned senior officers. District Police Officer Larkana Irfan Ali Baloch while giving the press briefing to the media men here at Larkana Press Club on Tuesday, he told that the President has expressed satisfaction and pleasure over the successful encounter and killing of dacoits and performance, in this regard the President has directed Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah for rewards and promotions to the police party he told. DPO Larkana discussed threats of terrorist activities now expected in different parts of Pakistan including Sindh province, so that in this regard the Anti-terrorist force/Squad will be formed and well equipped with modern technologies in order to face the challenges of terrorism. He told that according to the directives of President two chain APCs and two wheel APCs for each district total 36 APCs in Sindh along with two latest Gunship Helicopters for Sindh Police region will be provided to apprehend the notorious dacoits specially in the Sukkur Police region he said. He also told the media men that during the briefing for the welfare of Police personals was also discussed and President directed the Home Minister Sindh for providing the health covers to the police officials through Combined Military Hospitals (CMH) throughout Sindh, while the President also talked to the Chairman State Life Insurance Corporation for the insurance of risk cover for the Sindh Police, the chairman told the president that they will soon launch a program within a week the DPO Larkana told. DPO Irfan Baloch told that regarding the development projects of Sindh police, the Sindh government has already released Rs. 500 million for these projects and federal government will soon release more Rs. 500 million for the purposes. He told that the President was of the view that Naudero police station will be developed as model police Station and police camp will be established at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto with modern technical facilities. DPO Larkana told that the President also proposed for security and safety of those Officials who are facing threats during the successful encounters with dacoits, they will be given bullet proof vehicles in this regard and meeting with Toyota Company will be held to purchase the modern technology vehicles he told. He told that the President assured the police officials for appointment in same rank if they martyred during encounters, while a 20 bedded Police Hospitals in each Zone will be established, in this regard already announced in Sukkur Zone DPO Larkana told.
