LARKANA: June 20, 2009. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) The 56th birth anniversary of martyred Benazir Bhutto is being observed in a simple and befitting manner, to pay homage to the Chairperson of Pakistan Peoples Party all over the country here on Sunday (today). The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Larkana will hold main funcition at President House Naudero, where the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari along with Parliamentarians, party leaders and civil society would attend the function and donate their blood at camps setup in Naudero and Garhi Khuda Bux on the occasion of the 56th birth anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. The President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari will inaugurate the National Highway Road from Sukkur-Shikarpur to Naudero-Larkana and address the function on the occasion. On the occasion, all the security measures have been taken to control the situation, while the Police and Rangers have been deployed at various parts of Naudero and Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto. Larkana, Naudero and Garhi Khuda Bux was on high alert due to any untowards situation. The caravans of party leaders, parliamentarians and Ministers have been reached in Larkana to attend the birth anniversary programs, while Chief Minister Sindh syed Qaim Ali Shah reached late night here at Larkana on Saturday. Earlier Party leaders and Ministers will laid floral wreaths on the grave of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Qur’ran Khawani will also be held inside the masolium, where free food (Lunger) will be distributed among the people at Garhi Khuda Bux. The birthday celebrations of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto will start early morning with Quran Khawani, Fateha and Lunger distribution followed by the blood donations at camps. On the occasion the People’s Doctors Forum along with EDO Health department have organized the blood donation camps at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto and Naudero, where the party leaders, workers, provincial ministers and advisers, MNAs, MPAs will donate their blood. On the occasion, various camps in Larkana district to collect blood donations have been set-up on June 21, the birthday of Benazir Bhutto. The blood donations will be collected in these camps and supplied to the Jawans of the armed forces who were injured in the SWAT, Malakand operations against the terrorists. Later, the Party leaders would address the functions and Mushaira will also be organized late night in Larkana. In this connection, Larkana Press Club organized a big event to pay homage to the slain PPP laeder Benazir Bhutto. A large portrait was erected on the stage with lightening on the occasion. The leaders threw lights on the life of martyred Benazir Bhutto and paid rich tributes on her struggle and devotion till the late night on Saturday. The event was attended by the Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Provincial Minister for Law, Mohemmed Ayaz Soomro, PPP Larkana Senior Vice President Dr. Shafqat Soomro, Advisor to Chief Minister Sharmila Farooqi, Sherry Rehman and large number of party leaders, parliamentarians and civil society respresentatives on the occasion.
