LARKANA: June 16, 2009. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) A 12 member’s delegation “The Inter Provincial Writers” arrived Larkana and visited the office of Arts Council of Pakistan Larkano. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the office bearers and members of the Council including Abdul Sattar Khuhawar(Vice Presedent) Manzoor Kohyar, (Secretary) and Abdul Hadi Bugti, Treasurer and other members of the Council. The delegation was presented Sindhi Ajrak as well a set of books as a gift to the delegation on the occasion. The Secretary of the Council Maznoor Kohyar welcomed the delegation and briefed the performance of the Council and also history of the Moen Jo Daro and thanked them to visit Arts Council of Pakistan office Larkano. On the occasion the tableaus and Sufi music were presented which was appreciated by the members of the delegation. The delegation comprising Resident Director, Pakistan Acedemy of letters Sindh Agha Noor Muhammad Pathan also presented a set of books published by Acedemy of letters Islamabad to the Secretary of the Council,the delegation comprising of Zaheeruddin Malik and the writers including Dr. Saleem Akhter, Qazi Javed, Dr Tahir Tounsvi,Aizaz Ahmed Azar, Dr. Shaheen Mufti, Miss Asia, Zafar Ali Zafar, Saleem Raz, Ihsan Akbar, Dr. Rasheed Amjad, and Afzal Murad. The delegation expressed their views that the Monejo Daro old Indus valley civilization in Larkano district and Larkano district is rich in Pakistan, Political as well as Cultural and tradition fields and they were very impressed from the cultural activities and hospitality of the people of Sindh. The writers of the Larkano included Saleem Korai, Akhlaque Ansari, Muhammad Ali Pathan, Baqaullah Bozdar, Mukhtiar Jagirani, Mukhtiar Malik, Bashir Ahmed Shad, Mumtaz Abro, Ahsan Danish, Jam Jamali and others were present on the occasion. Meanwhile, District Officer Sports, Muhammad Hussain Makani has announced that Sindh Sports Board is organizing Summer Coaching Camp of BASKET BALL at M.A Khuhro Sports Complex Larkano from 18th to 27th June 2009 the interested players are advised to contact D.E.O Sport Larkano in his office Tel No: 074-9239020 and Cell No: 0333-7541076 Shabir Ahmad Sethar D.D.O Revenue (GA) Larkana will be the Chief Guest on opening ceremony on June 18th at Khuhro Complex at 06:00 pm On other hand, Sindh United Party leader Mehmood Bhutto, Ambar Mughal, Ahmed Ali Tunio, Niaz Mughari in joint statement issued on Monday have said that PPP government is playing with sentiments of Sindhi People by not registering the case against Jamsharo police on killing of SUP worker Syed Akhtar Hussain Shah inspite of court order. SUP leaders further said that peaceful protest is right of masses and opposition role is beauty of democracy but present government has deprived of peole from their right, they said. SUP leaders demanded of government to probe into the matter and take immediate action against police otherwise they will extend the protest movement.
