MCP holds Rehabilitation Convention in Lahore District. PCP. Report.

Lahore. March 13. The Methodist Church of Pakistan, Miriam Colony, Lahore. Members of the Executive Board, District Pastors, Circuit In charges and their congregations took part in it in the first Rehabilitation Convention under the management of Rev

The event opened with the Sacred Name of Lord God, followed by "Confirmation of Pastors & Congregations" for the Rehabilitation of The Methodist Church of Pakistan. It was vowed that in all the country, the need to hold such Conventions in each District is very great. To begin with, the MCP is looking forward to accomplish the task of Rehabilitation in the Diocese of Raiwind and Lahore. The Right Reverend Naseem Shahab-ud-Din, Bishop of Raiwind Diocese and Right Reverend Jamshed John, Bishop of Lahore Diocese was nominated to steer the cart of the MCP. The purpose of this and the following Conventions are to rehabilitate the activities of the MCP and to motivate the people re-join it. Rt. Rev. Jamshed John, the Executive Secretary of the MCP, presented a resolution regarding "Local & Global Methodist Community", which was passed by all presents. The Speakers urged upon the need to unite for the cause of Rehabilitation of the MCP. A call/request was made to the people who separated themselves from the MCP in 1969, to return to this Religious Platform. The Global Methodist Community is also requested to come forward to give a helping hand in this context. The MCP also requested The Global Methodist Community to put us in their prayers and make efforts for the Affiliation/Fellowship of the MCP with other reputed Churches/Religious Organizations
