Peshawar: May 23, 2009. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, Chief of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC demanded immediate release of data of registration of displaced Christians from Swat Valley, Dir Upper, Dir Lower, Boneir and other parts of Malakand division after complains of relatives of Christians who are still unable to flee from military operation areas or waiting for registration outside any camp set up by UN or Pakistani government. Nazir Bhatti praised Church of Pakistan to provide shelter to 32 families in Mardan and directions of Catholic Church to Caritas to help displaced Christians . “There were thousands of Christians in Swat Valley, Malakand, Boneir and Dir areas which are presumed holed up in war torn areas creating disturbance among their relatives in NWFP, Punjab and Sindh provinces which requires data announcement by registration authorities” Said Nazir S Bhatti The large presence of Christians in Northern Areas of Pakistan can be viewed by formation of new Dioceses of Mardan by Church of Pakistan separating it from Peshawar dioceses. Where are Christian families? It is big question mark for concerned Christians. Mr. Bhatti added “The Minority Ministry headed by one Christian have failed to provide any data of displaced Christians which have caused disturbance among Christians nor NWFP Christian members of Assembly have issued any statement or visited any camp to enquire and meet with IDP,s” PCC Chief appealed to EU and USA government to provide funding to Caritas Pakistan and Church of Pakistan Peshawar dioceses to enable for expansion of relief of effected families.
