PPP SB protests on arrest of Innayat Umrani

LARKANA: May 14, 2009. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) PPP Shaheed Bhutto took out protest rally against the arrest of Innayat Umrani and workers in fake cases. The rally started from Al-Murtaza House via different roads reached Jinnah Bagh and Press Club. Activists of Shaheed Bhutto chanted slogans against government and demanded the release of arrested leader and workers. On the occasion Barkat Mirani, Mumtaz Gopang, Zubair Lahori, Lala Surhio and others were present. In an other event in city: District Coordination Larkana Mohammed Jaffer Abbasi on Thursday chaired a high level meeting in order to removal of government and private properties encroachments including the Police Check posts, Schools, Bus Stops, Waiting Sheds, Shops, Hotels Guava Orchards, Trees, mosques and relocation/dismantling of Electricity Poles, PTCL Lines from Lakhi-Naudero Larkana Project by National Highway Authority. In the meeting Project Directors NHA Malik Basharat and Jamal Yousuf Shaikh briefed about various stakeholders for encroachment in to National Highway and unjustified claims for relocation of utilities by HESCO, PTCL and other stake holders. On the occasion, several concerned line departments discussed various issues of relocation and expenditures of encroachments. Project Directors NHA demanded that the law and order situation is not satisfactory in the area, so that the Rangers and Police patrolling and check post should be set up for peace and to avoid any untoward situation and criminal activities in the Katcha Area of Larkana-Khairpur Brigde approach road construction. They briefed that 90 kilometer road under the supervision of NHA will be contracted with a cost Rs. 1120 million completed in the July 2010, after the completion of NHA road and Larkana Khairpur bridge road will be connected with Indus Highway, to facilitate the people of country and maintain the law and order situation. DCO Larkana Jaffer Abbasi further directed that patrolling of Police and rangers should accelerate on the site and if any one found in the hindrance of development work, they will be dealt with strict action and FIR would be lodged against. In a meeting discussed ongoing development work of Larkana Naudero-Lukhy road development and other issues pertaining to the encroachments. They told that for the widening and rehabilitation of NHA road both sides all police Kobans, 790 trees and illegal encroachments along with village, shops, hotels and government buildings will be removed. In this connection all Mukhtiarkars, police officials will jointly with NHA oversee the matters and illegal encroachments from May 18th 2009. On the occasion, DCO Larkana M Jaffer Abbasi also directed the HESCO and PTCL to take necessary steps to remove electricity polls and cables in obstacle the widening of NHA roads. On the occasion, EDO works and services Khalique Dino Mirani, EDO revenue Agha Abdul Rahim, Additional DPO Larkana Tanveer Odho, Rangers Major Mukhtiar, Airport Manager Niaz Qureshi, HESCO XEN, PTCL Manager, All Mukhiarkars and other concerned departments attended the meeting.
