LARKANA: May 1, 2009. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) International Labour Day was observed by the different Labour Unions and organizations here in Larkana and other parts of Sindh, on the occasion rallies were taken out to mark the day and paid tribute to martyrs Chichago.
On the occasion number of Parties including Watan Dost Masdoor Federation in collaboration with Provincial Sindh Irrigation Mutahida Federation, APCA, Peoples Labour Bureau, Khaksar Tehreek Pakistan and others took out rallies and organized gathering at Rice Canal regulator and Jinnah Bagh Larkana respectively.
On the occasion, Labour leaders Ammanullah Mashwani, Liaqat Ali Dedar, Manzoor Aheer, Peeral Dayo, Abdul Qayoom Dhamrah, Sabir Soomro, Nasrullah Abro, Sobdar and others spoke on the occasion.
The Mazdoor Leaders presented charter of demands to the Government for the acceptance up to May 15, 2009; otherwise they will launch long march protest from Kashmore to Karachi on May 16.
Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General Larkana region Sanaullah Abbasi while addressing the Journalists of Larkana Press Club, he said his endeavors to deliver good services to the weaker segments of society to safeguard the minorities and womenfolk, as they are facing threats and miseries in the double standard society.
Sanaullah a committed to his job, further said public can play a key role to curb all the social evils from society and create awareness among the people to live with peace and harmony.
He said that the people in every sector instead of the resolution of their problems they are busy in unnecessary litigations and wasting their energy and wealth he said.
He declined the Jirga system and termed it unlawful and illegal way to occupy and impose the will on common men, added that the tribal elders and chieftains have no right to decide the Honour Killings and other murder cases. He said all the decisions if made earlier for the peace and resolutions of matters, so these are good efforts for resolutions.
He told that 2000 absconders, offenders and others have been arrested, while seven culprits regarding the Tribal clashes, 64 from Jacobabad and 44 from Kashmore were arrested were involve in the Kidnapping for ransom he said.
He said the law and order situation in his region is better some extent, added joint efforts by police and public should be made to face all the problems. The society individual should be accountable to his conscience, whenever he takes step for himself and others according to the justice. He said we need to build our society and our role is totally negative regarding the development.
He said his priorities are safe highway, control the law and order, no further kidnappings in the region. He stressed on the finger print and all record of criminals should be maintained and update he said.
He said that he has directed to all concerned police officers to take necessary steps to reduce crime rate in their respective areas if any crimes happened in their areas, strict action would be taken against concerned police officials.
He said there will be no compromise on law order situation; police will protect lives and properties of common men.
