Dr Shabaz Bhatti Strongly condemns Tessar Town attack in Karachi by Taliban

LAHORE; April 27, 2009. (PCP) Chairman Christian Youth Fellowship Pakistan condemned the brutal attack on Christians community of Tessar Town in Karachi. In a statement,Shabaz Bhatti expressed his sorrow over injuring of a child and other people due to ‘militants’ firing. He said that a day before the incident, ‘Taliban’ had written a graffiti(Talban Zindabad) on the walls of a Church in Tessar Town and when the same day Christian community were holding a protest against the graffiti the ‘terrorists’ opened firing on the peaceful protestors. He strongly condemned the incident of Tessar Town saying that the government’s granting the ‘permission’ to Sufi Muhammad and Talibans to ‘occupy’ the cities and killing their opponents was taking its toll and the sad incident in Tessar Town was the result of that ‘permission’. He demanded of the President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, CM Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad, and Home Minister Sindh to take immediate notice of the Tessar Town incident and arrest the terrorists involved in this incident. Chairman Christian Youth Fellowship Pakikstan Dr Shabaz Bhatti have also condemned‘the Taliban attack’ on Christian people and also the threats to the locals to evacuate the area immediately. Chairman Christian Youth Fellowship Pakistan Dr Shabaz Bhatti demanded of the government to immediately arrest the terrorists involved in the incident.
