LARKANA: April 25, 2009. (Nazir Siyal for PCP) Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has said that the terrorism and extremism can be wiped out only by the modern technology and education, no one nation can survive without the education and development of resources. He expressed these notions, while addressing the 17th Parents Day at Cadet College Larkana on Saturday.
Prime Minister was accompanied with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Federal Minister for labour and manpower Syed Khurshed Shah, MNA Faryal Talpur and others.
He said due to the poverty and lack of basic education needs poor people send their children in seminary’s (Madarsah), so that the extremism can be prevented by providing quality education in any developed institution like cadet college, among the top colleges in the country he said.
Prime Minister said that the present government making longstanding efforts to introduce new education policy, so as to keep a pace with the modern world. He said the uplift of quality education is the only way leading to develop nation, added that the top priority of the government is to emphasis on education and health, that’s why both Ministers belongs to Sindh he said.
Prime Minister Gillani said that Multan is also 5000 ancient city like the history of Sindh because this city was the capital of Sindh in early history, so that their forefathers had established several educational institutions including Nashtar Medical College, Gillani Law College, Anjuman-e-Islamia Multan and others.
Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani highlighted that the Larkana is the city of martyrs, Z. A Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto sacrificed their lives and struggled for democracy/rights of downtrodden people of Pakistan.
He said, we stand for peace and prosperity and present government is implementing the party manifesto as the dream of Z. A Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto will be completed with letter and spirit.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani announced Rs. 150 million grant for the Cadet College and 0.5 million for development of College Library, College Bus and 2 million for the establishing of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto archives.
Earlier, Principal Cadet College S. M Yousuf highlighted the achievement of College and apprised the Prime Minister about the Problems of College.
Before this, Prime Minister also reviewed the parade and change of Champions flag with March past and received salute from the cadets on the occasion.
Later, Prime Minister distributed trophies, shields, medals and cash prizes among the cadets and staff of college.
Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani while launching the “Award Internship Ceremony” under the National Internship Program by the Youth Affairs department here at Circuit House Larkana on Sunday, said the new youth policy have been submitted to the provinces for future development skills and more than 460 youth are receiving stipend under the national Internship Program.
Gillani said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had started this program for the youth of country as they may be trained in different disciplines to stand on their own feet, added there are various institutions like NAVTECH and others working for the youth development in country, further added that those youth will be given opportunities in overseas regarding the job opportunities he said.
He said the womenfolk were receiving subsidy benefit of Benazir Income Support program and health policy card will be issued to the women for empowerment in society.
Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani informed that the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto has gifted a unanimous 1973 constitution, which was acceptable to all political parties and it is the responsibility and liability on PPP to protect the constitution according to the letter and spirit he said.
He said Shaheed Benazir Bhutto wanted a new vision and complete development in every sector; in this regard she drew economical development process in right direction according to the environment he said.
Prime Minister said present government working on war footing basis to take all out efforts to put end the load shedding and electricity problems.
Prime Minister stressed that the writ of government will be established to ensure peace and stability, while terrorism, militancy and extremism will be root out from country and it is the duty of state to protect the lives and properties of common men.
He also said the labour colonies will be established throughout country and 1000 flate in Larkana constructed and accommodate the workers of Larkana. He said the Larkana district will be a model district in country, the roads and other infrastructure will be completed accordingly.
Prime Minister said the PPP is a movement and we will fight the war of people and continue the efforts of Benazir Bhutto.
Earlier, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani was accompanied by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Federal Minister for labour and manpower Syed Khurshed Shah, Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro visited the Mazars of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and others, they offered Fateha and laid floral wreaths on the graves of martyrs on the occasion.
