LARKANA: April 20, 2009. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) District Hockey Association Larkana team won final match against DHA Hyderabad with 1-0 goal in the Fisrt Shaheed Benazir Bhutto all Sindh Iner-District Hockey Tournament in collaboration with the Sindh Sports Board here at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Stadium Larkana on Sunday. On the occasion Chief Guest was Speakers Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro along with Provincial Minister Sports Dr. Mohammed Ali Shah, Chairman DHA district Larkana, MPA Haji Munwer Ali Abbasi, Secretary Sports Sindh Shoaeb Ahmed Siddiqi, Advisor and Olympian Iftekhar Mohammed Syed, PRO to Minister Hamid Ali Khan, District Officer Mohammed Hussain Makani, DSO Abdul Hameed Rajput and other citizens, large number of player were witnessed the event. On the occasion 24 district Hockey teams from various districts participated in the tournament. DHA Larkana started in eleven minute first half achieved one goal by Zahid Hussain, while in second half the match leveled by both teams including Larkana and Hyderabad. Later in 16 penalty strokes under the sudden death rule achieved one goal by Larkana team and won the championship trophy of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Inter-district Hockey tournament by 2-1 victory. On the occasion Chief Guest distributed shields and other prizes among the winner and runner up teams, the Captain of winner team DHA Larkana Mumtaz Ali received championship trophy of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Inter-district Hockey tournament along with Rs. 30000 from Sindh Sports Board and Runners up trophy received by the Captain of DHA Hyderabad Shahid Wahid. _____Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Sunday said that the sports activities are the breed for healthy environment and young players of hockey and cricket should prove their identity in the national and International level. He said this while addressing the concluding ceremony of First Shaheed Benazir Bhutto all Sindh Iner-District Hockey Tournament at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Stadium Larkana. He said the present Government in collaboration with the coalition partners has done good work and proved that the healthy activities can be promoted through sports and iner-district and national level tournaments he said. Speaker said it is great opportunity for Larkana hockey teams, those who played and won the tournament today, reminds the moment of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto also delivered her last memorable speech to a large gathering after exile. He said we have to prove like our leaders and arrange Footbal, Cricket and other matches and create healthy and peaceful environment for the development of sports point in Larkana. Nisar Khuhro also highlighted that the present government is keenly interested to provide jobs to the millions of young people of Sindh and in this regard after a long time ban has been lifted from all the departments and number of jobs in various fields have been advertised, so that the large number of youth could be adjusted even in the Benazir Bhutto youth development trainings he said. He said the struggle for job provision to the youths of Sindh is underway and we will fulfill the promise of Shaheed Benzir Bhutto with the masses, as per BB’s promise made here at municipal stadium with the Larkana people on December 24, 2009 he said. He said the Larkana DHA team with their efforts has achieved the goal and this goal should be repeated in every nook and corner in national level hockey and cricket tournaments. On the occasion, Sindh Minister for Sports Dr. Mohammed Ali Shah has said that the President Asif Ali Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah were also keenly interested in the sports activities throughout Sindh. In this regard various tournaments of hockey, cricket, football and other national level Games will be organized in order to provide the healthy atmosphere for the young people of Larkana. He also announced 12th Sindh Games next month and lauded the efforts of the organizers of the hockey tournament including DSO Abdul Hamid Rajput, Akber Ali Qaim Khani and DCO Larkana Mohammed Jaffer Abbasi. He said the development of playgrounds will be started soon in Shaheed Benzir Bhutto stadium Larkana and Khuhro Sports Complex, where the Astroturf Hockey ground will be constructed he said. Sports Minister announced that every year inter-district hockey tournaments will be organized on regular basis in Larkana, while games will create the national level opportunities for those players who are interested to play national level sports activities he said. On the occasion MPA Munwer Ali Abbasi welcomed the Sports Minister and Speaker Sindh Assembly and lauded the efforts of Sindh Sports Board and initiatives for the hockey tournament arrangements. On the occasion, Secretary Sports Sindh Shoaeb Ahmed Siddiqi, Advisor and Olympian Iftekhar Mohammed Syed, PRO to Minister Hamid Ali Khan, District Officer Mohammed Hussain Makani, DSO Abdul Hameed Rajput and other citizens were among the participants. _____Sindh Minister for Sports Dr. Mohammed Ali Shah has announced Shaheed Benazir Bhutto 12th Sindh games will be started from May 28 to May 31st in Larkana. He said this while talking to the news men here at Larkana Press Club on Sunday. Sports Minister said condemned the ICC against he decision for not holding International games in Pakistan. He said the security threats are common in world and it will disturb the Pakistan financially and loss for all over. Dr. Shah told that various new projects for the Sports activities in Sindh would launched soon, while in Larkana 106.6 million projects started for the development of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Stadium Larkana and construction of Astroturf for the Khuhro Sports Complex next month he said. He told that in Larkana there are national level players in Hockey, Cricket and other games but due to the non availability and facilitation of basic needs of players and infrastructure, the play grounds are in miserable condition. He said the funds in previous government were misused of play grounds and related things, added that new association and clubs will be established to promote sports activities. On the occasion, Sindh Minister Sports announced table tennis, Carom-board with kits and deep freezer for the Press Club Larkana. He praised the role of Media and said that the media can play his vital role in the development of sports activities. On the occasion, Olympian Iftekhar Sayed lauded the minister for holding such kinds of activities and tournaments for promotion of Sports in Sindh. President Press Club Larkana Syed Babu Iqbal thanked the minister for visiting LPC and presented Ajrak gifts to the gusets on the occasion.
