LARKANA: April 17, 2009. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) Federal Minister for Youth Affairs Shahid Hussain Bhutto said country wide volunteer corps may contribute in the development of society, they can participate in green and clean all over districts on grass root level, so that in this conncetion National Inernship Program (NIP) would be started from April 25th 2009. He said this, while addressing the district officials of Lakana during a meeting at Circuit House here on Friday. He said the National Volunteers Movement (NVM) will be re-activated to provide prompt first aid efforts, especially in the initial hours when the help is most critical in disaster management activities. He said for the development of our nation there is need of volunteerism, which will be the national beacon to fill the gap in spirit and action, he said adding that the true potential of volunteerism had never been harnessed in the past. Minister said properly relaunching of NIP, will start from Larkana district according to the education and policy objectives he said. He said the tree plantiation will be started with awareness program thoughout and the volunteers can play their role in cleanlessnes program and the people from different walk of life icluding the Nazims, Councilors, government line departments, stake holders, NGO/CBOs and media will participate on the occasion. Later, talking to a group of media, he said, in order to resolve the problems and ensure improved service delivery to the general masses and community, the Ministery’s strategic role and integrated approach is to ensure good service delivery through Volunteerism in the district. He said we are strives to promote to improve social sector delivery through Community Participation and Volunteerism, added the govnerment role is to fascilitate the community by helping and facilitation in the structure and to build the capacity of youth of the country through a mobilization he said. Minister Youth Affairs told about the policy said that these are divided into three projects to focus on 15 areas of youth interest to promote the role of youngsters in the national economy by trainigs and support them, because the majority of our population is comprised of youth (15-29 years old) which shows that they have a big role to play for the country. He said we have to put our youth on right track to make them contribute productively to the national economy. He said the jobless youth is vulnerable to fall prey to negative elements, so we have to create better conditions for them so that they could become good entrepreneurs and help boost economic activities in the country. Shahid Hussain Bhutto said that the Youth affairs Ministry is interested in the National Internship Program and total 71000 applications have been received for internships. He said this program will be put on fast track for quick job placement of 21000 applicants on Rs.10,000/- per month whose documents have been verified while the remaining will also be accommodated soon after verification of their educational documents he said. He said this initiative will not only provide trained manpower to industry, it will also contribute to reducing unemployment in the country he said. On the occasion DCO Larkana Mohammed Jaffer Abbasi and other line department District Officers and EDO were among the meeting. ______Provincial Home Minister Dr. Zulfikar Mirza said that the law and order will be maintained and the proprerties and lives of people will be safeguarded at any cost. This he said while addressing the Open Katchehry in the Municpal Hall Naudero here on Friday. He said the Job opportunities in various departments will be provided for the youth of Sindh, added there are 1500 police jobs have been provided to the unemployed people of the areas to combat the poverty sitation. He said this is the land of martyrs and the people of this area will be given top priority in the different sectors. He said the problems of the people will be resolved on pririority basis he said. On the occasion he listen the problems of the people and ordered the DIG Larkana and DPO for early solution of promlems, he on the occasioin directed the police for early reocovery of buffaloas of a poor person Ali Khan. On the occasion, PPP Leaders, Shafqat Soomro, Khair Mohammed Shaikh, Anwer Ali Bhutto, Nisar Bhutto, DIG Larkana Sanaullah Abbasi, DPO Larkana Irfan Baloch and others were present. ______A large number of employees of Population Welfare Department Larkana took out protest demonstration and observed hunger strike for their issues against the Sindh Minster Jaam Mehtab Dahar here on Friday. Protest rally led by Provincial President All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) Sindh Peeral Dayo along with Manzoor Aheer, Farooq Jalbani, Nasim Kalhoro, Abdul Wahab, Qutubdin, Muhammad Shabir Soomro and others took out rally from Population office via Qaim Shah and marched through various thorough fares and reached at Jinnah Bagh Chowk out side Press Club Larkana. They were chanted slogans against the Population Minister and demanded the provision of their rights and removal of Minister. On the occasion, Peeral Dayo, said that Provincial Population Minister is adapting anti employee policies and trying to disturb the department employees. He said they had filed the case against political appointments at Sindh High Court in PML-Q government and we will continue our struggle against injustice. APCA leaders on the occasion, demanded the leadership of PPP to immediately resolve the matter of the regularization of all contract employees, the restoration of employees quota and release withheld salaries of the mobilizers immediately they said. _____All Sindh Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Inter-District Hockey Tournament by Sindh Sports Board under the District Hockey Assicaiton Larkana will be played final match betweent the teams reached in final here on Saturday (today) at Municipal Stadium Larkana. During the final match the chief guest Sindh Minister Sports Dr. Mohammed Ali Shah along with Secretary Sports Shoaeb Ahmed Siddiqi, District Officer Sports Mohammed Suhail Makani and other diginitaries will be among the final match here in Larkana. During the matches several Disrict Hockey Assocations including the Larkana, Thatta, Tando Mohammed Khan, Ghotki, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Jacobabad, Nawabshah, Tando Allahyar and other districts arer among the matches.
