Srinagar: April 7, 2007. (PCP) In a press statement issued by Senior Hurriyat Executive and acting chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has strongly condemned the continued human rights violations committed by Indian troops in Jammu Kashmir. He maintained that the people of Kashmir would continue their struggle for an amicable and durable solution of the Kashmir dispute. He said that the Kashmir dispute is the main hurdle in the cordial relations between the two nuclear neighbouring countries. Spotting of more unmarked graves in Lolab of North Kashmir are the umpteen examples that Indian armed forces have been rendered trigger free and have unleashed terror in every nook and corner of Kashmir. Mukhtar Waza called upon the international community to continue to highlight the human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian military and para-military forces in Kashmir and to impress upon the government of India to allow an independent and impartial investigation of the mass grave sites in the region. He said that the Kashmir Centre would continue to interact with the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances to ensure that the families of the victims could finally had the answers that they deserved He urged the international human rights organizations to send a fact-finding mission to enquire about the human rights violations being committed by Indian troops in the region.
