(Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has said that the founder of PPP Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his daughter Shaheed Benazir Bhutto laid down their lives for the sake of democracy and the party is full capable to face all the challenges to pull out the country out of national and international crises. He further added that "I promise you that with your support nothing of this sort will ever happen and no one extremist will be able to take over the country or break Pakistan." Addressing the public gathering outside the mausoleum of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto on his 30th death anniversary here on late night. The President said that he was fully aware of the problems of common people like unemployment, lack of basic amenities of life and poverty. He said the Bhuttos slogan of Roti, kapra aur makan is very much applicable and for ever, we will provide them roti, kapra aur makan as we have made promise with the people of country he said. Asif Zardari said that the world knows Pakistan because of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto as they are the identity of Pakistan; he said the prevailing economic situation of country can be stabilized only by the PPP led government, so that the world has focused Pakistan and appointed their special envoys to support the country. The President said that he was fully aware of the problems of common people like unemployment, lack of basic amenities of life and poverty. He knows that the country needs electricity, industrial production and water for irrigation and high yielding seeds for enhanced agricultural output. He said that, “we will tackle the shortfall in electricity as Benazir Bhutto had done. I will bring high yielding seeds from China and will create jobs for the unemployed.” He said the two provinces were in turmoil and after coming into power, the PPP was working for the strengthening of federation and harmony among the provinces. President said PPP government has inherited all the problems at the same time; however the PPP led government is determined to overcome on those hardships to carry forward the mission of martyred leaders regarding the poverty alleviation and prosperous Pakistan. He said the PPP government is evident of the symbol of democracy and federation, while during the next five years remain in power, will focus on the welfare of masses. President Zardari said that PPP which is a party of masses has rendered innumerable sacrifices for the sake of Pakistan and democracy and its leaders even laid down their lives for this purpose. “Everyone wants to become Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, but it requires martyrdom.” He said the PPP leaders consider politics as worship, adding, Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed despite knowing the threats to her life came to Pakistan and was martyred. We told BB not to go as there is danger to your life, but she said this politics is our worship he said. The President said it was incumbent upon everyone to save and protect the Pakistan of the Quaid‑i‑Azam and Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and “we will do it till the last drop of our blood.” Talking about the welfare of workers, the President said the PPP government lifted the ban on workers unions in line with the vision and philosophy of our Shaheed leaders. The lifting of ban on unions, he added, was aimed at ensuring that the voice of workers is heard. “We have to live together. The whole Pakistan is with us and we will succeed in our endeavors”, he added. President Asif Ali Zardari laid floral wreaths on the graves offered Fateha at the graves of his father in Law Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, her spouse Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and other martyrs of Bhutto family graves. Later, the President Asif Ali Zardari paid visit to the Naudero Sugar and meet with different delegations, party leaders and workers here at President Camp House Naudero on Saturday. 30th death anniversary of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) founder and former premier Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was observed across the country here on Saturday. The millions of people paid rich tribute to their beloved leader and offered Fateha on the Mazar at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto a native village of Bhutto’s family. The anniversary programs started Friday night continued till the Saturday morning. On the occasion a documentary video of Z. A Bhutto displayed at public meeting and speeches by various Federal and provincial Minister party leaders and President Asif Ali Zardari. Pakistan Peoples Party (S.B) Chairperson Ghinwa Bhutto also arranged separate public meeting here on Saturday morning. Large number of PPP workers and leaders with caravans of both factions from the different parts of Sindh, Punjab, NWFP, Balochistan and Azad Kashmir. It was about tens of thousand people were attended the anniversary programs at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto and Naduero. The PPP arranged recitation, Mushahira and speeches were made late night till the morning. In Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto several hudnered camps were established all party workers and leaders reached at the mausoleum and in front of public meeting at Garhi Khuda Bux. A large number of PPP workers and leaders of PPP cultural wing, women wing, labour wing, youth wing, lawyer’s wing and other social welfare organization representatives and civil society paid rich tribute to the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto for his services for democracy and the country. Chairperson Pakistan Peoples Party (SB) Ghinwa Bhutto said that it was big change for the people of Pakistan that they were demanding their rights, as the political awareness given by the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Ghinwa said that the martyrs are buried here under the mud at Garhi Khuda Bux but Zardari and his allies’ have no rights to occupy on the Bhutto’s family graveyard. She allegedly said that the Zardari and his accomplices involve in the killing of our two martyrs of Bhutto family, so that they have no any legacy with Bhutto. Ghinwa said the PPP has been hijacked for 20 years and the enemies of Bhutto family were exposed and they must be brought before masses. She said the Nusrat Bhutto was removed from the party chairperson post forcefully as she was supporting the Shaheed Mir Murtaza Bhutto during the election. Chairperson PPP-SB condemned drone attacks on Swat and other Pakistan territories and killing of innocent children and women are shame full for the PPP government. She said the Musharaf had supported US for such attacks to kill his own people. She also expressed the torture on women in Swat by militant groups. Chairman SNF Mumtaz Ali Bhutto on the occasion addressed and said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a great leader of the world, millions of people come and paying rich tribute to him. Mumtaz Bhutto said the dictator had forced him to go on exile but he did not accept that conditions for his pardon, he preferred to embrace martyrdom but did not bow before them. He said the four people haves sacrificed their lives for sake of democracy and masses, he appealed to the people that don’t waste their sacrifices and oppose them. He said we will take revenge for the assassins of Bhutto family, he regretted that after 15 months the FIR of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s murder has not been lodged and the killers are at large. He said Zardari knows the killers and protecting them. He said the millions of rupees were spent on the security of Zardari during his visits and undue expenditures were used here in the name of corruption. He emphasized that such money should be used for the purchase of floor (Atta) for the destitute people of Sindh he said. On the occasion, Party leaders Amir Bhutto, Meenhan Khan Rind, Innayatullah Umrani, Altaf Malgani, Qadir Aheer and others also spoke. Earlier, the Chairperson Pakistan Peoples Party (SB) Ghinwa Bhutto along with Chairman Sindh National Front Mumtaz Ali Bhutto his son ex-MPA Amir Bux Bhutto and large number of Party leaders and workers visited the Mazar of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutt, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, Mir Murtaza Bhutto and Shahnawaz Bhutto here at Garhi Khuda Bux on April 4. They also laid floral wreaths on the graves of martyrs (Shuhda) of Bhutto family, on the occasion recited the Holy Quran and remain some time.
