(PCP) HRFP welcomes the CJ’s suo motu notice of whipping of 17 years old girl as he formed an eight member larger bench which will initiate hearing of the matter in question on April 6 and the bench will be headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudry himself. Naveed Walter President HRFP highly condemned the heart pain incident in Swat in which the Taliban publicly whipped a teenage girl in a mediaeval fashion on the charge of her being involved in illicit relations here. HRFP demanded to Government of Pakistan for taking his immediate action and appealed to people of Pakistan, political workers, and civil society that they must come out openly in denouncing the incident unequivocally and assist in apprehending and punishing the responsible of this incident under the law.
