I met Father Francis Tanveer in Rumi Center Brooklyn run by under the supervision of eminent poet and columnist Mr.Ashraf Mian. I found him a convicted person. He believes in religious harmony and Interfaith dialogue. I have read his poetry. His poetry is religious and social. He is a practicing Christian, preaching love, peace and cordiality. I have read his Urdu book "Saleebi Kalemat" which in English means The Words on Cross. In that book I found the Biblical message of Love and Peace. The human history is drenched in the blood of humans in the name of God. It is very tragic that even today the hard liners of all faiths have made God the apple of discord. Father Francis Tanveer spreads the light and fragrance of peace and moderation. He is a good poet and a docile priest with facile pen and sweet tongue. His Urdu poetry is regularly published in Pakistan Weekly New York whose I happen to be the Chief Editor. Besides his spiritual and human mission his poetry is metrical and praise worthy.
